Bryan Bulaga, the former University of Iowa offensive lineman who helped the Hawkeyes win two bowl games and later won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers, will be honored as a 2026 inductee of the National Polish‑American Sports Hall of Fame (NPASHF). The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 18 at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy, Michigan.

The NPASHF, founded in 1973, recognizes athletes of Polish heritage who have achieved distinction in American sports. The 2026 class includes NFL superstar Rob Gronkowski, former NHL player David Legwand, and college basketball legend Dave Meyers, who will be honored posthumously. Bulaga joins these figures as the latest inductee.

Bulaga was born March 21, 1989, in Crystal Lake, Illinois. He played college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2007 to 2010. During his three seasons with the Hawkeyes, the team posted 26 wins, including a 9‑4 record in 2008 and an 11‑2 record in 2009. The 2009 team earned a victory over South Carolina in the Outback Bowl and a win against Georgia Tech in the 2010 Orange Bowl. Bulaga earned Big Ten Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year honors and was named a first‑team All‑American by The Sporting News in 2009.

The Green Bay Packers selected Bulaga with the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. In his rookie season he started 12 games and appeared in all 16 contests, including the 2011 Super Bowl, where the Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bulaga was named to the 2010 All‑Rookie Team by Pro Football Weekly and became the youngest player ever to start in a Super Bowl at that time.

Bulaga’s professional career spanned more than a decade, with stints in the NFL that included the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Chargers. Throughout his tenure he was repeatedly cited as one of the league’s top offensive linemen.

In addition to his Hall of Fame induction, Bulaga was recognized by the University of Iowa in 2023 when he was selected as the recipient of the Iowa Football America Needs Farmers Wall of Honor. The award honors former Hawkeyes who have contributed to the community.

The induction ceremony will take place on June 18, 2026, at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy, Michigan. The NPASHF typically hosts its annual banquet at the same venue, and the 2026 event will feature a banquet and a presentation of plaques to the new inductees. Matt Shepard is slated to serve as emcee.

Bulaga’s inclusion in the Hall of Fame underscores the breadth of his impact, from his collegiate success to his professional achievements and community service. The event will celebrate his Polish‑American heritage and his contributions to American sports.

The 2026 induction ceremony will be the 53rd annual NPASHF banquet. The Hall of Fame’s mission is to preserve the legacy of Polish athletes and to inspire future generations. Bulaga’s induction adds to a long line of athletes who have demonstrated excellence on the field and in the community.

The ceremony will also honor the other inductees, including Rob Gronkowski, who won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots, David Legwand, a former NHL forward, and Dave Meyers, a former college basketball player.

Bulaga’s career highlights, including his role in the 2011 Super Bowl victory and his recognition as a top offensive lineman, make him a fitting addition to the Hall of Fame. The event will bring together fans, former teammates, and community members to celebrate his achievements and his Polish‑American heritage.

The NPASHF’s induction ceremony on June 18 will serve as a reminder of the significant contributions made by athletes of Polish descent to American sports. Bulaga’s story, from Iowa to the NFL and now to the Hall of Fame, exemplifies the dedication and excellence that the Hall seeks to honor.
